Militia formed together as a group about four years ago.
They met on the skate parks in Kenora. After realizing that they not only had skate boarding in common but liked the same kind of music, they started to jam together and eventually became a band.

Their combined talent had them creating original material and quickly they found their own unique sound.
Most of their early gigs happened at the Norman Community Club where they were able to unleash their music to an appreciative audience. They quickly became the local favorite for young people in Kenora and word always spread quickly when they were scheduled to play at the Norman Club. Soon, they were playing to packed crowds and were also able to get some performance time under the tents on the Harbourfront during the busy summer seasons in Kenora.

All of them have been interested in music since they were young and most of them are primarily self-taught musicians.
Their music is hard driving metal and they play with a confidence that denies their age. The combination of flawless guitar riffs, lightening fast drum groove and seering vocals create a sound that demonstrates metal music at it’s finest.
With influences like Metallica, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath, Militia shows us that metal is not only alive and well and growing in popularity, but it also includes some of the most talented musicians that we’ve seen.
