Sound Stage

807 Back Beat performances are taped at Norcom's renovated Soundstage. The Soundstage is located in the 3rd floor auditorium of the Norcom offices in Keewatin.

The Norcom office is actually the Keewatin Memorial Building, which was built in 1918 for the returning veterans of the 1st World War. The stage and auditorium have a rich history in the community and many long-time residents have memories of attending dances in the venue. In recent years, the auditorium and stage area have been used as a storage area for Norcom's operation. When the idea of a music show came up, discussions quickly turned to how we could utilize the great potential of the 3rd floor auditorium.

Over a period of two months the stage area was cleaned up, painted and retrofitted to facilitate the show. To add to the ambiance of the Soundstage setting, Holly B's artistic talents were harnessed to provide large musically themed murals on either side of the newly renovated stage.

A telling compliment to the quality of the venue, many guests of 807 Back Beat have commented on how much they've enjoyed performing here.

Technical Facilities

The goal of 807 Back Beat is to present our vibrant music scene to a wider audience. In order to meet this goal we felt it was important to produce a quality program. In addition to the renovations to the Soundstage, Norcom also enhanced it's production facilities. Anchored with the purchase of a new 32 channel audio mixer, the new sound, light and digital recording equipment ensure the best possible presentation of the performances. The broadcast on NCC 10 is presented in stereo from a digital master.
